Get Involved
"Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers." Galatians 6:10
One of the greatest ways to come close to God is to serve and there are plenty of opportunities at St. Nicholas’. We also help those working towards their Duke of Edinburgh’s Award.
Help the Church Family
Community Hub (and food bank)
Taking place every Tuesday morning, the community hub can only operate because of a committed group of volunteers. If you want to get involved contact community@stnicholaschurch.org.uk
Nicks Kids and Youth
Both our children’s group (on a Sunday at 10am) and youth group (every other Sunday evening) are run by volunteers, if you want to get involved contact the Church Office. All volunteers are DBS checked and trained.
Help During the Services
Welcome Team
A sidesperson or welcome team is the first friendly face you meet when you come to a service, volunteers help on a rota at either the 8am, 10am or 4pm services. If you’d like to be involved contact the Church Office.
Bell Ringers
Ringing before the 10am service on a monthly basis; beginner and experienced ringers are always welcome, full instruction is given and practices take place on Monday evenings from 19.45-21.15. Contact the Church Office for more information.
Worship Band
Leading the contemporary worship at our 10am service, the worship team is always looking for new instrumentalists and singers. Contact the Director of Music, Angus Cunningham for more info.
Coffee Team
Help refresh the congregation after the 8am and 10am services by ensuring there is plenty of fresh coffee, tea and biscuits. Working on a rota basis it’s a great chance to chat to our congregation. Contact the Church Office to get involved.
Help Maintain the Grounds and Building
Gardening
There is a team of dedicated gardeners who meet regularly on a weekly basis to maintain the Garden of Remembrance and the New Acre Graveyard. Contact the Church Office for more information.
Flowers
Flower arranging is done in the church for special services such as Easter, Harvest and Christmas. Volunteers of all abilities are very welcome to join us. Contact the Church Office if you are interested.
Working Parties
Occasionally we hold working parties to get involved in light maintenance jobs, annual spring cleaning or ground clearance. Look out for information in our weekly news sheet or contact to Church Office.
As a church, we depend on your generosity to make everything we do possible—from running Sunday services and children/youth activities to supporting our community outreach and maintaining our historic building.
Every gift, no matter the size, helps us continue to be a place of worship, welcome, and care for all. Your support enables us to grow as a church family, serve those in need, and share the love of Christ in Thames Ditton and beyond.
If you feel able to give, either as a one-off donation or through regular giving, we are deeply grateful.
